Crushing Doomscrolling :) Just Add Water

The 12-Day Doomscroll Reset
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." — Galatians 5:1
INTRODUCTION
You didn’t sign up for this — the endless scroll, the late-night dopamine loops, the low-level anxiety that sits just under the surface. But here you are. And if you’re like most people, it feels harder and harder to just put your phone down and be.
This 12-day reset is for you — a daily rhythm built on five simple but powerful practices:
- Hydrate with mineral-rich water
- Reset your nervous system by washing your hands and face
- Connect with God through prayer and meditation
- Get outside into the natural world and ground yourself
- Create boundaries for your phone
It’s simple. It’s healing. And it’s time. Each day includes one action from each step and a powerful scripture to anchor your soul in truth. You don’t need perfection. Just take one faithful step each day.
This Journey Isn’t About Shame. It’s About Healing.
Too many people online are being told they have ADHD or need medication just because they’re feeling overwhelmed or distracted in a distracted world. But science (and Scripture) tell us another story:
Your attention isn't broken—it's under siege.
This is not your fault. But it is your opportunity to change.
When we are bombarded by alerts, scrolling triggers, fast entertainment, noise, chemicals, and chaos, our dopamine system becomes overstimulated. This leads to anxiety, sleeplessness, disconnection, and loss of focus. What we need is not another label. We need a reset.
And it starts with water.
Day 1
Hydrate: Drink 8 oz. of mineral-rich water as soon as you wake up.
Reset: Wash your face with cold water and take three deep breaths.
Connect: Tell God, “I’m ready to reconnect.” Sit in silence for 3 minutes.
